End the EPA’s War on Jobs

It's time to stop Washington's attack on our way of life, our communities and our jobs in Western Pennsylvania.  President Obama continues to ram through radical regulations at the Environmental Protection Agency with one intention: to shut down mines and prevent domestic energy exploration.

We need to tell Washington ‘enough is enough,’ but to be more effective, I need your help.

Please join me in sending a letter to the EPA demanding that it stops pursuing job-killing regulations that will hurt our communities, force layoffs and make us more dependent on Middle Eastern oil.

Sign this petition and help protect our region’s workers and way of life.

The three objectives are:

  • Stop President Obama’s EPA from implementing excessive regulations similar to cap-and-trade legislation that is stalled in Congress
  • Prevent the Obama Administration’s unprecedented power grab at the EPA to shut down coal mining in the United States
  • End the EPA’s exploitation of its "veto" power, a measure Obama’s Administration has used 79 times to obstruct mining operations across Appalachia

Despite bipartisan opposition to these, in March 2010 the head of the EPA said “she plans to go ahead and issue rules for greenhouse gas emissions by next month, as Congress has failed to create a cap and trade program to cut global warming emissions.”  I believe that higher taxes, more bureaucracy and excessive regulations are not the answers to help turn our economy around.  I’m not a politician, but I’m running to represent you in Congress because I’m fed up with the direction of our country.

I was raised in Johnstown, which is why I’m disappointed that our neighborhoods are threatened by a radical left-wing agenda. Through the EPA and cap-and-trade legislation, President Obama and Speaker Pelosi want to put our coal miners out of work.

In fact, Vice President Joe Biden, who opposes clean coal, said he wants "no coal plants here in America," and President Obama is pushing legislation even after admitting that "if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that [cap-and-trade] will bankrupt them."

Not only are these attacks an affront to our way of life, but they also jeopardize our national security by making us even more dependent on foreign energy.  In Western Pennsylvania, we’re sitting on an abundance of energy resources.  In addition to our coal, we have enough natural gas reserves to heat every home in Pennsylvania for more than 2,000 years.

Washington has let us down.

Please join me by signing this petition to show your opposition to these dangerous attacks on our community’s future. Let’s leave America strong and great, just as our Founding Fathers envisioned.
